They cancelled an international trip at the last minute because they claim that there were not enough participants. In other words, they could not make enough money on that particular trip.

Instead of keeping their commitment to those that had paid for the trip and made plans months in advance---they just screwed us to save a few dollars. No character, no integrity--total hypocrites.

It costs me enormous time, money and aggravation to find a substitute. Please respond if you would like to join in the campaign to teach them that this is not the way to treat their customers and other human beings.

I choose not to leave my name. Find an attorney in Philadelphia where the company is located. You may have to make a few calls.I am in the process of a lawsuit now.


Granted my trip was in 2014, but I purchased a Gate !1 Groupon trip to Morocco and the trip was wonderful! The customer service answered all my questions, and some were pretty dumb.

I was nervous, but figured, what the heck! I took a trip to Thailand the following year and it was wonderful, too.


Four of us were looking at possibly booking a Groupon trip with Gate 1 Travel to Budapest and Prague and after reading all the negative reviews on this and other sites we are booking our trip elsewhere! Wow, this company should go out of biz, start over with a new name and new customer service department! Really appreciate the heads up!

Wow...I just wrote a review also as they did not honor a computer glitch on their part....seems that's a normal in their treatment of customers.


I too have purchased a groupon/Gate 1 tour to the holy land in December and have begun planning and prepping for it. I sincerely hope that the same happens to me, otherwise I will join the campaign. Thanks for sharing!


Correction..hope that it does NOT happen to me....I have begun a chronological log for the purposes of any potential legal issues in the future.


That is smart to do, as I used them for independent travel, escorted group & private group tours. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. I communicated primarily via email & recorded all calls.
