Gate1travel - Gate 1 baited us and switched us costing us our frequent flier credits
We booked a Gate 1 trip to Vietnam for Oct 28, 2010 from SFO. The Gate 1 people called and re-roted our flight days before departue. Instead of taking China Air to Taipaei and on to Saigon, they changed us to Korean Air Lines to Seoul and Saigon. The original flight was to arrive in the morning of the same day. We wanted our frequent flier credits and they assured us that we would get Delta miles for the KAL flight.
1. The change in the iteniary requied us to spend a noght in SFO costing us an addition $175 for hotel and transfers.
2. We never got credit fr ourDelta miles and after many discussion with Delta, thy found us on the KAL manifest but said we had to have the E-ticket # to get credit despite sending them a copy of the iteniary and our boarding passes. They said that We would have to get Gate 1 to send us our e-ticket copy. I called and wrote to Gate 1 on several occasions and still have not gotten the ticket or any verification of the fare basis from them.
3 When we finally got to Saigon it was late at night, there was no noone there to meet us. That was b/c the land operator had us arriving on the flight in the morning on China Air and they just supposed we had cancelled or missed our plane. The tour include tow days in Saigon and they counted the aririval one of the days even though it was midnight before we got to our hotel. We had one day in Saigon, so we really did not get to see very much.
SOLUTION SOUGHT-It is too late now to make up for the lost sightseeing, but Gate 1 should be able to help us get our mileage credit with Delta and re-imburse us the extra cost amounting to $175 for the night in SFO.
